Barbara Piccinotti was born in Brescia in 1975. Barbara is grow-up
in a family whit a big tradition about forniture restoration. Since
she was a child she learned the skill of carving wood from her fhater,
brother and uncle.
At 7 years old she start to be interesting at the music and in particolary
she start to play clarinette in the band of her town.
When she was 14 years old she decided to subscribe at the International
School of Violin Maker "Antonio Stradivari" in Cremona where she learned
the traditional way of violin making. She graduated in 1993 under
the guidance of Maestro Giorgio Scolari.
After the school she spent many years of training in Stefano Trabucchi
workshop where she learned the technique of violin making and varnishing
of violins, violas and cellos and where she also improved her technique
and developed a personal style. Beside the art of violin making Barbara
is also a singer in a chorus.
In 1999 she decided to open her own workshop in "via PECORARI n°5"
in Cremona where she start whit her business in Italy and overseas.
Infact her instruments are appreciate from Japan to U.S. as well as
in Europe for the nice personal style and excellent quality sound.
Barbara Piccinotti makes violins, violas and cellos follow classical
Cremonese and personal model whit very high quality varnish, in modern
and antique look, and particular attention to the choise of selected
wood and nice quality set-up plus sound adjustments! In 2000 she also
share at the 9th Triennale International Competition of violin making
in Cremona.
